a day to myself

Ahhhh. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had a day to myself. I think it's been too long, actually. JC took the boys fishing for the day. He went with his buddy Steve and Steve's family to a place called Cook's Forest. Jake and Ian were so excited to be able to hang out with their dad all day. :) I am excited they will be having fun, and I will be able to RELAX.

Some updates are in order, I guess.

Jake is doing a little better. :) Heck, after all he's been through, we'll take a little better at this point! I think it's helping that he is involved in baseball. It gives him something else to focus on, and the fact that he LOVES baseball and is good at it too makes that a really positive thing for him.

Ian is also playing baseball this year. He played in the season opener yesterday. My sister Missy came to the game with my niece Emma, so we all had fun taking turns watching the game and chasing Emma around the field. :) (We are waiting on some blood test results for Ian, so if you're reading this, maybe you could think some positive thoughts for him. Thanks!)

JC and I are still busy remodeling. We are beginning to see the end coming nearer, and that's such a great feeling! We are waiting on the carpet for the media/family/exercise room, and then we'll install the baseboards. We also need to put the baseboard and door trim in my scrapbook room, and then, I get to finish shopping for the room. That's so exciting for me! We put in the carpet and built my new table last night. I have to admit, it really made me want to get scrapping again! It's been so long since I have felt creative. It's time. We're also remodeling the kitching- just a bit. So, once the basement is finished, we'll get started on that. The boys are enjoying all this chaos. They like to help when they can, so this truly has been a family project. :)

On that note, I'm going to leave you with some more new photos, taken at my niece Logan's birthday party. I'm looking forward to scrapping these!
